Explore states "Location not available for this message"?

My partner just sent a message that I received in email form and via Explore app on my phone and Explore on my laptop,

When I tried to view the location by click "Map" tab the app said: "Location not available for this message"

When I click the link in the email message I got the map view of the earth and the message but no location information.

When I logged into the Garmin Explore site used it to view the message contents I saw the text of the message but it says "No location data available".
I verified that a location link was requested. I just added to put in the longitude latitude into the email in case she sends another message.

Any ideas why this happened?

What device was it sent from?

Is Location Sharing Enabled for the account that device is registered to?

Also possible that message was sent w/o a fix. I think user is warned but can override.

I sent messages to my wife on the extreme trip. She also got an SMS link to my location. But it didn't work, it also writes that the location is not available.

Probably not relevant to your case but it may help others. There's a Garmin inReach support page titled:

inReach Text Messages to New Zealand Phone Numbers Do Not Include the Location Link

The location link sent with inReach text messages is being blocked as spam to New Zealand phone numbers due to regulations in that locale. To ensure the messages to these phone numbers continue to get delivered we have turned off the location link from being sent to any New Zealand phone number. Messages sent to a phone number not in New Zealand will continue to include the location link, provided it has been setup correctly. See the content in the Related section below for more assistance on the location link for other phone numbers.

If the location link to a New Zealand contact is necessary we recommend sending the message to the contacts email address.

inReach text messages to New Zealand phone numbers may still be blocked and seen as spam if they are duplicate messages back to back. Example: Sending the quick message, "I am starting trip," twice to the same number in a row can be seen as spam.

Thanks for this info Cuz.

I was driving myself mad trying to work out why contacts were no longer receiving an embedded link to my location in the text messages. It's a real bummer that this important functionality is lost for NZ customers. No way around it other than sending to an email address?
