GPSMAP64 unusable

I have a GPSMAP64s in which I attempted to install an .img map. It seems this make the GPS unusable according to Garmin Technical service. Damaging a hardware through software or data installation should not happen in this sort equipment. Does somebody knows an alternative service to repair it?

I've loaded hundreds of 3rd party maps to dozens of different Garmin models without any trouble. Garmin often blame any issues on 3rd party maps. Maybe there are dodgy map files out there - I've never struck them. All I can suggest is you remove the file (by using the computer) and ensure the GPS is up to date with Garmin Express. Then do a hard reset (after saving any valuable waypoints, tracks etc). Where did you put the .img file? Has the file worked in other Garmin units? Have you tried a map file from a reputable source?
