Sending SMS Problem

Just a note that over the last few days I've been unable to send SMS messages to two of my ATT friends. Contacted support and they noted this problem has cropped up over the last couple of days and they are working on the issue. Advice I read somewhere in this user group was to not check the two message options (1) to send location data or (2) map web address with the message. This has worked for me on this issue at this time.

Usually it's the shortened URL included in the message (for the link to the map page) that AT&T "objects to". They keep trying to tighten their anti-spam measures. Among other things, it tends to interfere with shortened URLs. And it seems to happen over and over and over.

In one instance, I seem to recall that Garmin temporarily switched to non-shortened URLs. But this can push the length beyond the character limit for a single message, resulting in extra charges for recipients (on cell plans with limits on SMS traffic).

Thank you for posting this. We are aware of an issue with inReach messages that include location links not being delivered to AT&T customers. So that messages continue to be delivered, we are temporarily removing all location links from inReach messages until we can work with AT&T to get this resolved.
