This is the suggested workaround from the other thread (involving changing the URL to include a date range). Somebody else reported it not working. YMMV.
This is officialy documented feature: https://files.delorme.com/support/inreachwebdocs/KML%20Feeds.pdf
Yes, I know. But you're not supposed to have to use that in order to get the current track.
another Q - can you request 'relative' start and end dates via the query string? e.g. is there a way to say - show me the track for the last 3 days? or 'the last 24 hours'?
Based on the document, it appears that this is not possible.
This is working for me too - so glad to have stumbled across this thread. I'm now trying to customize the data that is being displayed in the info window. Any tips on how to specify which pieces are pulled, instead of everything? Here is the tracking page that I'm working on, right now the content is "event.featureData.infoWindowHtml" and I'd really just like to pull the lat, long, time, velocity, and course. Thanks!
great work! nice to see this in action. you've got further than me. our project is on hold due to coronavirus so i haven't looked for a long time. i didn't get as far as looking at the info window data. have you contacted the trackserver guys (are you using Wordpress with trackserver plugin?)
I tried using the Trackserver plugin but it didn't make much sense to me. I was able add a date range to the end of the KML file and just use Google Maps to serve it up. So the track line shows -- but it doesn't update or refresh, as more data is added to the KML. I need to sort that out before I go back to the Info Window data.
