MapShare hides route on mobile layout

https://share.garmin.com/share/XxxxXxxxxx web page render differently on a different screen sizes. There is different layout for mobile and desktop devices. That’s good. Problem is that route appears only on desktop optimized layout. When mobile device user wants to see route he must use i-button to get on screen where he can swap to desktop layout. Tracks appear correctly on both layouts.

I would like route to appear also on mobile layout.
  • I am encountering the same issue. I am running a 50 mile race tomorrow and the people tracking me are using phones. The course does not show up in the mobile browser version of map share. It does show up in the desktop browser version. Any ideas?
  • Hello,

I'm sorry for any frustration this issue has caused. For technical assistance on an issue like this it would be best to contact Product Support through the support center at https://support.garmin.com.
  • Thank you GarminJH. I submitted this issue to Garmin Support on June 1. I have not heard back from them since then. I provided screen shots of the web and mobile maps so that they could see the issue. Hopefully they will fix it up.

Just a note about tracking, though. The tracking worked perfectly during the 50 mile run. I am very pleased with the inReach Mini!
  • I'm curious if anyone has seen a resolution to this question? I created routes and waypoints for a five day trip. They both show up on a desktop Mapshare page. The waypoints appear on Mapshare mobile but the routes do not. I tried Chrome and Safari. No issue with seeing them in Earthmate.
  • Just an FYI, I have not had any response from Garmin since submitting this to https://support.garmin.com. So, I sent an inquiry and the response was that it is not fixed. I asked a follow-up as to whether it will be fixed and got no response. Not very impressive. If you would like to see this fixed, please also send requests to the support site.

update: I sent a second request through https:/support.garmin.com and received this:

Mobile browsers can only display so much and you are the only user that has reported this problem in that time frame. We just redid our explore webpage(as of 8/30/18) so you can try it with a new tracking. Or alternatively see if the user could try loading the new version in desktop mode on their browser. But since it's working on a desktop computer we know all the information is broadcasting and is going where it needs to go. Your ticket is still open in case we do get other reports so we can gather more information. But as of right now I have not heard of a timeline for fix.

    Thank you for choosing Garmin,

  • I'm a new inReach Explorer SE+ user and am having the same issue. The tracks appear to show OK when viewing on my desktop browsers but no location or tracking points are shown when using browsers on my iOS mobile devices.

I've tried using Safari, Firefox and Chrome. No difference.

    This is getting very frustrating.
  • Please submit this issue to support.garmin.com. They claim nobody is asking for this and decline to address it. Maybe if more people submit the issue Garmin might fix it.
  • I already have an open ticket with Garmin Support. Still no response or resolution.

ill post an update when, if, it’s resolved.
  • Same issue on my map share. No track on iPad or computer. Sometime I can see it on the computer but never on iOS ...
  • Do you know how to come back to mobile view ?
