Segments and courses - I need an explanation

Hi there,

I am quite new to Gramin (I used Tomtom for a long time) and I don't quite understand the idea of 'segments" and 'courses"
Would anybody be so kind and explain it to me (or give some links/hints where I can find the info)?

Some of the more helpful sources I have found are on YouTube. Lots of individuals post videos. Some one time users, some in depth reviewers. Lots of walk-throughs which make it easy to learn. Search for either your device or the specific question / feature and I bet you will find a short video explanation.
