Communication between InReach devices

Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I can’t seem to search the specific InReach forum material. I just recently bought a second InReach so that I would be able to communicate with my home in the event of a loss of phone communications. While I have been able to communicate via text or email to each of the devices, I’m having trouble communicating from one device to the other. Are there any known issues with this and are there any suggestions on what I can do.

Not aware of any issues. To send a message to another inReach, the "to" address needs to be the inReach address. This is in the form "[email protected]". The "whoever" part usually comes from the e-mail address associated with the user to whom the device is assigned. For example, if the assigned user's email address is "[email protected]", then the inReach address is likely "[email protected]". You can check on this by looking at the Account tab, Users sub-tab at inreach.garmin.com for the account to which the device is registered.

Like all traffic, inReach to inReach messages go through the Garmin servers. You will be able to monitor such messages via the inboxes on the web site - just like any other message.
