I've been through the docs and can't figure this out. When I use my inReach Explorer and drop a Waypoint, it always comes out named "Reeves meadow x" where x is a number....The first hike I did with this device over a year ago was near Reeves Meadow (Harriman St. Park, NY). How to I set the default to go back to "Waypoint xx" ???
I believe the inReach devices are like the gone but not forgotten DeLorme handhelds in this regard. They auto-number from the last waypoint name. To fix this, mark a new waypoint. When the waypoint detail screen comes up, edit the name. Change it to something generic that does not match any of your existing waypoints. For example, "waypoint 10". The next waypoint you mark should then be named "waypoint 11" and so on.
This is actually a useful feature if you're marking multiple points, perhaps a long a trail.
