I just read an interesting article stating that Space X has launched a rocket taking 10 satellites into orbit for Iridium. In the coming 12 months a further 71 satellites are due to be installed in Earths orbit. Reading between the lines one would assume this was good news for users of InReach. Perhaps someone knows more and can confirm whether these satellites will improve send and receive from our devices?
I can't respond to your question as a fact. However, I can posit with some conjectural speculation.
Regarding current communications, I don't see any enhancement in the near future. What I do see is that these satellites will provide additional capability for more users in the future. That is, without the increased number of satellites, increase numbers of users and messages could slow down transmission for all. With the new satellites, I expect that many new users can be accommodated in the future without slowing down data transmission.
The new set of Iridium satellites offer much higher bandwidth and additional, data-based services. More details are in the wiki article and its off-links.
