Fenix 5 data fields disappeared

I have a custom activity on my Fenix 5, with 3 data screens and 2 or 3 data fields on each. These have previously worked fine. Recently, two of the data fields have stopped displaying any data, they're just blank. The missing data fields are:

hSpeedRecent

OS Grid Reference

I know the watch has the underlying information from the GPS, as the average speed and lat/long data fields still work.

I have tried deleting the data screen and rebuilding it, with no effect. The data fields are still in the menu for inclusion in data screens, and are still listed in GarminDevice.xml.

I have tried to download the data fields from ConnectIQ again. They are still available and recently updated but every time I click Download I get an error "Sorry, the app wasn’t sent to your device because we’re having trouble communicating with our servers. Please try again later." This has been the case for several days and I don't think the error message is the real error.

My Fenix is on version 25.0 software.

  • Now fixed. The missing fields on the watch were fixed simply by powering it off and on; should have thought of that!

    The error on the Garmin servers may have been exactly what it said, as it persisted for a few days then cleared.
