I appear to have lost the race an activity function option when setting up a run activity, has anyone else experienced this?
I appear to have lost the race an activity function option when setting up a run activity, has anyone else experienced this?
Me too! I tought it was me. Did you get any solition?
No... and I made the mistake of resetting both the watch and Garmin Connect and now have the problem of connection/syncing.
oh ***...sorry. I was thinking to do the same, but not now
I think it´s a problem with the new update
I agree. I'll use the chat function again and see what they recommend now... and post an update
I´m right now talking with them! :D
asap they tell me something I´ll reply
cheers
Hi!
I received an alternative, but it's not the same. It's set up the virtual partner. You can set a pace and run against it. Not the same, but is the most similar.
And just FYI, I have the same problem with the syn. The watch don't update new trainings from the android app
Good job they done with the new update
Hi, yes I'd read into that option, not the same though... I went through their chat function yesterday and they ran an update on a fenix 5 plus that they had there and they said it had done the same - wiped the race activity function... and that they would try to resolve it - I got cut off from the chat though so will have to go back to the start again
Hi Richard! I have some good news!!
well...i found and option that it´s almost the same as race an activity, but it´s not easy to find it, I discovered it by chance.
I suppose the navigation trough the menus is the same for different countries I explain for mine and just let me know if you get it
Running > Options >Navigation > Activities (Select that one by date that you want) > Go > Press start
And after that you will running against yourself.
I tried this morning and it works as race an activity. I hope it helps you!
I tested the Virtual Partner multiple times and I can reproduce the following undesired behavior: whenever I go off-course (wrong turn, bad gps signal, discrepancy between gps track and actual trail) and then come back on course the position of the Virtual Partner is reset to my own current position. I.e. when I was 10 minutes ahead or 10 minutes behind, now I am right with the virtual partner. Which makes this feature useless to pace myself. In fact, I had a DNF in a race because b9ased to the Virtual Partner I thought I am on time, when I reached an aid station with a cut-off, but was told that I am behind cut-off time.
Has anyone observed such a behavior? I am using a fenix 6 pro.
