Erratic battery during and post activity

The watch is second hand but I believe first registered beginning of 2022 somewhere in APAC so I would think the battery is still good but I could be wrong.

During running with only GPS on I often take a big hit on battery in the first hour (circa 8 to 10%) and then it will slowly level off over a.few hours to about 6% per hour.

Strange thing is when I conclude the activity the battery will slowly creep back up around 5 points or so.

It concerns me because if I'm doing an ultra I don't want extra battery in the bag that only seems to be accessed post work out.

Grateful for any ideas.

  • I was able to track your watch back to it's production date - April 2018. Your lithium-ion battery could definitely be a concern. (Your watch generation is pre-PulseOX and onboard Music. The #1/#2 for battery drain.) Leaving #3 next,  your battery drain suspect is the GPS usage due to the perception of your watch for the GPS impact. It is an abnormal behavior and certainly should not be taking place.

A potential workaround: after you save an activity, soft reset your watch by holding your top left button until your watch shuts off then let go.

Your watch being new for you using it, you may not see a difference full master resetting it, but you should try it too.

I hope you see an improvement in behavior.
