How to turn off daily tips?

I had to do a reset on my Garmin Fenix 5x. Ever since (about 10 days), every day around the same time the watch gives me a pop-up message with some kind of daily "tip".

How do I turn this useless stuff off? I have looked around the watch, the Connect app, and the Google machine, and cannot find an answer. There has to be a way, right? This isn't a feature, it is spam.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Not sure if it is identical on F5, but on my Instinct 2 it is as follows:

Select the Run activity profile (or Bike if you are getting cycling workout suggestions) » press and hold the Menu key » Training » Workouts » Today's Suggestion » scroll down to Settings » Workout Prompt » Off

  • I appreciate the idea, but my menus do not appear to be like that. Nothing similar I can see.

Also I am not sure the tips are activity-specific. More general stuff like, click here to do this. That sort of thing.

Works for me. When I turn it off in Running, I get no more daily suggestions. If I enable it in Cycling, I get cycling daily suggestions.

See also the following article for a more general information about the daily suggested workouts - it gives the same instructions as posted previously:

Using the Daily Suggested Workout Feature on a Garmin Watch | Garmin Customer Support

  • That's not what I am receiving though. I am getting like technical tips on how to use the watch.

I just chatted with Garmin Support. What they said is, apparently, you cannot disable these. They will do this for some period of time after a reset (or with a new watch I suppose) every day, and then "eventually" they will just stop. When I asked what "eventually" meant, the support agent disconnected and disappeared.

So far it has been about 10 days. We shall see how much longer it goes. Kinda surprised Garmin doesn't have a way to turn off this spam.

ETA: Funny thing is, I don't remember seeing this when I first got the watch (in 2018 I think). So this must be a new "feature" of the current OS.
