Unable to pair with Tacx Flux S trainer

Hi. Recently purchased a Tacx indoor trainer. I'm trying to use my Garmin Fenix 5 for the heart rate monitoring but it doesn't find it when searching for additional devices. Is the Fenix 5 compatible.i know it has Ant+.

The Fenix 5 series does not have an Indoor Bike Trainer APP built into the software. (The Fenix 6 series and newer have a Trainer APP that will work with most trainers to a degree.)

Thanks. Would I then need to add another heart rate monitor to connect to the Tacx?

I do not know about your Tacx Trainer side but the Fitness Tacx Product Support team in your region may be of further assistance and will be happy to help you with what you are trying to achieve. Input which Tacx you own and the Product Support number will be at the bottom of the support center.

If you can directly connect a HRM to your Tacx and if your trainer will include your ride details with HRM data, it would be your best metrics. You can still use the Indoor Bike APP on your watch but without having GPS for distance, you won't have a lot of data.
