If there is a general workout forum, please let me know so I can post there. My question is not specific to Fenix 5, but more generally about training plans.
I am training for a half marathon in September, using Jeff Galloway's training plan. I was in Week 8, but last week came up hobbling and shut it down immediately. My Achilles hurt. Thankfully, the doctor said nothing ruptured, just Achilles tendonitis. So, I shut it down for the past 7days and can do "some" stationary bike. Then in a couple of days, some walking, progressing to light jogging. When I get back on the plan it might be 14-17 days.
While these plans are good for keeping on track, there is no communication to anyone on the back end of "WHY?" I am canceling one or two weeks of training. I don't know what algorithm these plans use. Therefore, how should I return to the plan? How long should I be running "on my own" before I return to the plan? How does one return to the plan and continue at the paces/workouts built from the previous 7 weeks?
