Golf Activity - Courses not showing on phone when they are downloaded in the app.

I tried to reply in this thread but it seems to have been locked! Why would you want to stifle conversation like that?

Anyway, the problem remains. Go to play a round and it doesn't show the course. I have played there before, the course is loaded on the garmin connect app, but for whatever reason, it just tells me to download more courses using garmin connect. I've already done that.

I've found that restating the garmin or phone sometimes works. Also, starting another activity like a walk in the same vicinity seems to help the watch know where it is once it gets a GPS fix. But sometimes there is no option but to delete the course from garmin connect, restart both devices, download the course again, restart again and sometimes it shows up.

If there were a way to know the exact procedure, it could be a bug one could work around, but it's pretty annoying.

Which is why I asked if it were going to be fixed in the other thread before someone locked it. I don't understand Chris' reply saying the functionality remains the same, the functionality is broken.

    Regarding your question, the Golf thread referenced and posted into is over a year old. Due to software on your watch and for both the Connect Mobile and Golf APP being frequently updated, older issue threads are locked to better track new issues on different software.

    Regarding your issue, in your Garmin Connect app, you should be able to download your golf courses as needed and sync them to your watch without being required to restart your Fenix 5, restart your smartphone, delete/re-add, and sync repeatedly for the course to work.

    Please ensure your watch and Connect Mobile APP are fully updated. If you continue to have an issue, please reach out to Golf Product Support in your region.

  • Well, I thought discussing the problem here might be a good place to start. After all, it resulted in getting the previous issue I had of the golf app crashing mid-game resolved. 

    I've been ghosted a few times by Garmin australia which is why I prefer to utilise the forum. I'll give them another try. 

  • Is there any update on this? I have the exact same problem and I've tried the whole delete all the courses and redownload them thing, to no avail. It's pretty annoying that when I get to a golf course I never know whether or not the course will show up, even if it has in the past. 

  • Still happens for me, but it feels like less frequently.

    That could just be down to not playing a wide variety of courses lately though.
