My Fenix 5X is still working, but activities are no longer syncing, either via Garmin Express of to my iPhone.

It last worked on Sunday, 3 activities since then.  Steps are still synchronizing steps and heart rate data.

I have tried restarting my Fenix twice and iPhone and Garmin Express don't sync activities still.

Would appreciate thoughts and ideas.

Thanks,

Bruce

  • What I have determined is that Monday's walk is a problem.  When I look on my watch it isn't there, Sunday's run and Tuesday's runs are. So how do I fix this.  Please note I really don't care about Monday's walk, so don't care if it disappears.

  • Since I had nothing back I reset it back to factory.  Not really happy as I had steps all sync'd on Sunday, but it went back and deleted Thursday forward...

  • I am sorry there was not a response quick enough to help with your sync issue.

If you ever have another sync issue through the Connect Mobile APP, try syncing using Garmin Express on a computer.

Garmin Express will either sync successfully and you will see all activities on your Garmin Connect account or it may give a sync error. On occasion, the sync error will tell you what bad files need to be deleted on your watch. Even if Garmin Express syncs, you may still get an error syncing using the Connect Mobile APP. If so, delete the day you noticed your watch stopped syncing and 99% of the time it will be that single .FIT file that caused the sync issues to begin.

Also, if both your Connect Mobile APP and Garmin Express will not sync the .FIT file, you can try to manually upload the missing day through Garmin Connect web.

  • Chris, thanks for the response.  Yes it was late, but these things happen.  I do not know what the real cause was, but Neither the connect app or Garmin Express were syncing any activities.

I did try a manual sync (manual upload) of the latest .FIT files from the watch, but was consistently told they had all been synced.

Perhaps you would have been able to assist in finding the cause, but I had no response for over a week, and elected to factory reset.  The interesting thing about that was that I lost the already synced steps going back 4 days. Again not a major issue, just interesting.
