Reverting Fenix 5 to Older firmware due to high battery drain with 24.10

I have been using my Fenix 5 for about 2.5 years and since about the beginning of November the life of the battery has tanked. It used to last me 7 -> 10 days with some 5k runs but now just sitting on my desk it barely lasts 2 days.

I have tried the following to see if something I did was affecting the battery.

  • Reverted to standard watch face
  • Turned off Optical HR. I use a HR strap whilst running anyway
  • Removed any other apps/data fields
  • Rebooted Watch
  • Reset Watch
  • Performed a Master Reset

Non of these seemed to make a bit of difference.

At that point, a bit of searching these forums brought to my attention that 24.10 was released around the time I started getting poor battery life and sure enough that was the version i was running.

So i did a side by side battery drain test with my Wife's Fenix 5S which was running 22.40 and whilst mine dies after 2 days, the fenix 5S is draining less than 10% per day.

So i thought i'd simply revert the 22.40 for my watch and see if that improved the situation but despite a lot of searching i haven't been able to track down the previous firmware, as Garmin always seem to link to the current without any way to get to older versions

So clutching at straws here but does anyone know if Garmin host a server anywhere that has old version on.

Thanks
