Fenix 5 BLE connection with 4 iiii power meter

Hi,

I want to pair 4 iiii with bluetooth but fenix always pair with ANT. ( with ANT I have too much power drop).

4 iiii has bluetooth but it only pair with android phone. And fenix 5 can pair my HRM Pro with BLE. So, they both can be paired technically. 4 iiii  pair  BLE with android for useless chipolo tracking.

I tried unpair ble with phone. Uninstall 4 iiii apps, unpair fenix  5 with power meter etc .

( To pair HRM with fenix 5 over BLE, fenix 5 always pair with ANT. I have to pair via garmin connect apps. So, there must be similar stupid way to skip pairing ANT for powermeter)

Any suggestion?

Regards,

Nay

  • Once it has been paired with ANT+, go into your Sensors & Accessories menu and select your sensor. If your sensor's software is fully compatible, you should have the option seen to connect via Bluetooth too.

  • Thank you Chris for quick reply. It doesn´t show that option.

Pic 1, Connection type option in HRM ( between name and remove option)

Pic 2, No connection type option in power meter

  • It is uncommon to not have a Power Meter be able to connect with ANT+. You should be seeing the option to pair with ANT+ during the pairing process itself on your watch. You should be able to go down in details and switch between ANT+ and Bluetooth.

  • When I go sensors and accessories-->add new--> power---> fenix 5 search for power meter and it always find--> one option only for power meter (which is ANT+ of 4 iiii). There is no BLE option of 4 iiii.

I make sure that power meter is not paired with smart phone before. I did reset and unpair power meter of 4 iiiii apps with phone.

After pairing with ANT+, I tried to choose connection type as shown in the picture 2 and there is no BLE option as well.

  • I also have a similar problem with a Viiiiva HR sensor from 4iiii.

My Fenix 5x has never been able to connect via BLE. I needed that for HRV measures.

I’ve posted this issue a long time ago without any answer.

I also wrote to 4iiii who answered me they don’t have this problem with any other device so it should be on the Garmin side.

I hope this time we get a solution.

    tks

  • After googling forums ,I got answers to sort out 4 iiii power drop.

    1. 4 iiii precision power meter wont connect fenix 5 with BLE.

    2. It is 4 iiii problem, not the garmin

    3. Certain 4 iiii model will drop connection frequently whenever battery level is <70%.  (Replace battery whenever it is <70%. They are super cheap anyway)
