This is my very first forum post as I could not love my 5x any more for the however many years I’ve had it. Just a wonderful device.
Anyway, since updating to 24.10, the distance on trails I’ve ridden countless times is now off a decent bit. On today’s ride, it tracked 6.5 miles, but prior to 24.10, it has been spot on at 7 miles.
Today, I took a Garmin handheld to do some comparison and sure enough, it was spot on at 7.0 miles, while the watch showed 6.5 miles.
Some details:
- speed and cadence are from Garmin devices on the bike
- I’ve adjusted GPS to use both GPS and Galileo
- on prior versions of software, the ride had been rock solid consistent at 6.9 or 7.0 miles (I mean dozens of times over the last year and a half)
- the same thing happened on a different ride that is verified to be 8.5 miles but the watch showed 7.7 miles and previously it was spot on.
I have a few more details in data elements to see what’s going on (track maps absolutely PERFECTLY mirror on prior versions of software and 24.10) and other stuff, but the above are highlights.
Any ideas?
