Route creation WITH waypoints???

This Support article will help: Creating Waypoints/Points of Interest and Routes in the Garmin Explore App. The Fenix series watches are geared towards using a course without waypoints for Running & Biking. You can still create a 'route' like on a GPS handheld and have a point-to-point waypoint route on your watch.

Oh and the guide is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard...... as NO mention of waypioints within a route only points which are not helpful

You can still do both but if you use the default functions already on the watch, it will create a round trip course for you for the purpose of biking or running. Many forums users talk about using 3rd party software to create their routes and prefer using them. There are many creating routes discussions in the Fenix 5, Fenix 5 Plus, and Fenix 6 series threads.

Yep I know but when I upload them from say Memory map the waypoints are removed. This basically is killing the nav function when in the hills as you can see how far a waypoint is within a route  only what is left for the entire route...  you also can't look at the ewatch and to see a compass bearing to the NEXT waypoint  so you can then just use a traditional compass...  The entire route planning process for these watches it pointless and quite frankly DANGEROUS
