issue with free maps from bbbike

I have created a few maps from here to use with my 5x BBBike extracts OpenStreetMap

But when I start the watch up it gives the cannot authenticate error... Any ideas why?? They work fine on all my other garmin devices yet not the 5x!

You will run into a memory issue before a map limit issue on your Fenix 5X. You should be good.

Nevermind I figured out what the issue you have to use Latin1 format and NOT UTF-8 format and all will be fine.... I remembered the issue from the past and just forgot to do it this time lol Anyway hope it helps others who want good quality maps...... but be able to download just a specific area instead of a whole country....

What is the map limit for the fenix 5x?

Cheers for the answer... Not used to having the ability to have as many as the memory allows lol... Used to a max limit based on the device etc

Don't suppose you know any where for High quality contours we can use on the fenix??
