Fenix 5S - Not saving maps

Last week I did 3 stages of hiking and my garmin fenix 5s has not saved any of the maps.
It’s strange, because I haven’t touched on any options and it’s the first time that’s happened to me.
To try to fix this problem, I activated the permissions of google for the access to the position, but the maps still do not appear...
Do you know if the maps can still be retrieved? Can someone help me ?

  • I am sorry your hike did not save properly. Your issue sounds like a device issue with your Fenix 5S. You should be able to see the activities in your History. If you were able to successfully save and synced those Hike activities, you should also see them in your Garmin Connect Mobile APP and on your Garmin Connect web account online.

    If you do not see the GPS course recorded by your watch within the history of your watch for those hikes - you will have lost that data.

    You will need to perform further troubleshooting of your watch to ensure the issue is resolved for all future saved hike activities and other outdoor GPS activities you save.

    Please try the following:

    Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off

    If your watch continues to not save either the outdoor activity GPS course or the activity itself, please reach out to your regional Outdoor Product Support.

    I dont think is a device issue, because 2 days before my activity of hiking, I did another activity and the maps were saved.

    In addition to this, I went running yesterday and the map were recorded.

    I think it is just a one-time issue, and I would like to know if is possible recover the maps (I have all the information: slope, time, distance, slope profile...).

  • I am happy to hear your watch has been working fine since. As for the any map recovery, if the saved .FIT file from the activity is corrupted to the point it won't sync to Garmin Connect or there was not GPS course map altogether, there will be not be a means to recover it.

  • I think thats is the problem, I stopped and re started the activity many times, so probably there was not GPS course map altogether.
