22.40 - 23.71 Change Log Notes:

Fixed an issue with the drawing of golf greens.
Fixed an issue where sport names can be cut off after syncing an activity to Connect.
Fixed a potential issue with altimeter data during rapid ascent or descent.

I tested 23.71 during parachuting activities.

First the good news, the device does not freeze anymore.

But, during the climb, the altitude is around 25m below the correct altitude, and during descent, the altitude is 200m higher. It looks like the altitude is delayed by a moving average algorithm. This was not the case before.

I would recommend to fine tune the algorithm to get the device more reactive (less delayed).

Updated device 2 day ago, (since that device works ok) but i lost all watchfaces/custom apps after update/restart. At least rest of the settings survived, paired sensors too.

Upgraded my Fenix 5 from 22.40 to 23.71 just now. Custom watchface (Time Flies) came up as before with all the options set. I'll have to wait to see how the battery performance and altitude response turns out.

I updated to 23.71 beta because for some reason, my 21.00 fenix 5s updated to 22.40 although I had automatic fimrware update disabled... When I realized that, i updated to 23.71. One issue I have now is that my altimeter IN THE WIDGET seems to be locked whatever the altitude I calibrate to. On the other hand, my tracked activities seems to have altitude variations so it may be a bug in the reading int the ABC widget only... I miss the 21.00 firmware which was working so fine.

Nevermind, for some reason, my barometer watch mode was set to barometer instead of altimeter or auto.

Garmin_ODQA is this release ever going to get a full public release or just stay a beta? I loaded it on my wife's 5S and she hasn't had any issues with it and battery life seems better than it was before.

It failed on me twice, during a running activity, the watch got stuck on vibration at a lap mark (km) and I had to shutdown and restart the watch. The activity resumed but it happened twice.
