Unable to sync activities to Garmin connect

Good evening. I hope you can help please?

I currently have a fEnix 5 and for some reason I am unable to sync my activities to Garmin connect app. The app can see my device and when I try to sync I get the white cycle and the green progression bar on the picture of my device then it all of a sudden ends and I have an escalation mark saying “file transfer error timeout” 

I have done a reset on my phone, uninstalled and installed the app again and repaired my fEnix to the phone but alas still no joy.

can anyone help please?
