I picked up this watch a while back, and never used it for pool swimming, because it lacks a countdown timer. The distance for open water was never as precise as my Swim 2, either. So I have just stuck with it, and used the Fenix for all of my other activities. I somehow misplaced my Swim 2, and am now using the Fenix for all activities. While the times I tried the Fenix in the past worked, now it isn't working.
So......it is not tracking my heart rate during either pool or open water swimming activities. MOnitors it all day, monitors it running, cycling, MTB-ing, indoor cycling, etc. But not for swimming. When I go to field chooser, those options are there. There are about 4 screens, but when I actually do the activity, the only ones for pool swimming are a 2 field timer and distance screen, and then the drill log (which I never use). Two of them have heart rate. The one that has 3 fields including heart rate displays as onsly 2 fields. The dedicated heart rate field doesn't even show.
The Open Water option does have the 3 field screen showing hte heart rate, but it doesn't take it. The screen that is just heart rate does not show up.
I have even gone so far as to remove the Swim 2 from my account. Not making a difference.
Any ideas?
