TOTALS GONE overnight with Latest Update-Garmin 15.40! How do I get them back?

My Fenix 5s Plus updated to 15.40 overnight which has caused my TOTALS to be GONE!
I WANT my totals back-anyone know what to do?
I’ve synced with my laptop a couple of times as well as the Garmin Connect app on my phone-totals on the watch itself are still NO SHOW!

I'm having the exact same problem on Fenix 6X (https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-6-series/279231/monthly-data-running-mileage-disappeared---fenix-6x-sapphire).

I already contacted Garmin, but any solution worked so far...

SADLY NO!
I had someone from Garmin that was looking into it for me for a couple of months, but in the end he told me that he and his team couldn’t figure out what happened or how to retrieve the data on my watch. I do appreciate the time and effort he and his team put into it, but I am still frustrated that the totals can’t be restored to my watch!
As you probably read, this happened to me overnight when my watch auto updated-of course my online calendar still shows all of my data, but the totals *on my watch* is one of my favorite features!
IF anyone sees this post and knows how to retrieve them to the watch-I’m SURE there are people like me who would to know!

Also, I see a few posts about the 15.40 update that has caused other issues NOT sure what bugs there are in that update, but it seems to have caused several issues that people aren’t happy with! ‍

Indeed, it's a really useful feature to quick evaluate at the end of each month for example how many km were done. That information isn't that simple to check on Garmin Connect.
In my case, some months are missing and others are incomplete.
Everything seems ok in Garmin Connect.
So, definitely it's was a software update that went wrong... The strange is not having the possibility to sync again through Garmin Express (like the Personal Records).

Hi everyone,

After days in contact with Garmin Iberia, we came to the conclusion that there is no way to retrieve and re-import the totals into the watch (those totals are available on Garmin Connect). Only the new activities will be added to the watch totals.
