Cannot pair with mobile app or Garmin Express (F5)

Hi,

I've downgraded to firmware 13.3 from 20.x.

With new software battery drain was huge even with watch settings reseted to defaults.

When I tried to pair again, the app stops at Connect Device button.

I removed watch from account, I cleared app data, watch hard and soft reset, restart phone...

Got no more ideas...

Any auggestoons?

  • Please try the following:

    - Delete the Connect Mobile APP off your smartphone

    - Remove your watch from your phone's Settings > Bluetooth menu

    - You already hard/master reset your watch. You should not need to do it again. Try to pair again directly through the Connect Mobile APP.

    - Put your watch into Pairing mode Settings > Phone > Pair Phone when you select your watch again in the Connect Mobile APP

If you still cannot get your watch to Bluetooth pair back to your phone through the Connect Mobile APP, you can test Bluetooth pairing your watch to any other smartphone to see if the issue is genuinely the watch. Given you had a serious battery issues, there may be other issues with your watch and part of those issues may be Bluetooth related.

  • Nothing.

The watch can be paired with bluetooth in phone.

The phone is recognized by Connect an Express but it dies not finish the process...

Edit: cannot pair etrex 35t or vivosmart 3.

Etrex 35t is registered in account.

  • If you cannot pair either your Vivosmart 3 or Fenix 5 watch, there are likely much bigger issues on the phone side. You should be able to directly pair either your Fenix 5 or Vivosmart 3 through your Garmin Connect Mobile APP.

If you can pair your Fenix 5 to any other smartphone through the Connect Mobile APP, you will be able to confirm the issue is not your Fenix 5 but your current phone.

  • Not so.

It all just happened when I did a firmware downgrade.

5 minutrs before making the downgrade I was able to sync my watch.

I tried to go through various versions since 13.3 till 19.xx and cannot pair it.

I tried also on a Iphone, Garmin Express (both W10 and Mac).

  • If choosing to downgrade your firmware caused other issues, you may be forced to replace your watch.

  • Thank you for your support.

I have solved the issue by downgrading Garmin Connect app to previous version.
    It all works now.
