Garmin not taking privacy seriously

I recently just picked up a Fenix5X as my 3HR died. I know its ancient but hey the price was right and it does everything I want except for one thing.

PRIVACY

What I mean is, Garmin introduced the privacy settings for notifications on the 5plus models and newer where you have to turn your wrist in order to read the notifications. I find when I am in a meeting room and i receive a message people are staring at my watch and reading my messages when my watch lights up.

If Garmin really took privacy properly then this is a critical feature that should be made available on all platforms. Yes I get they are running a business which is why I understand I would have to upgrade for Garmin pay, music etc and even to get Widget glances. But none of these to me are a security critical concern.

Garmin really should consider loyal customers who have been with them for a while and its sad they won't treat such a security concern with higher priority instead of forcing their existing customers to upgrade.
