Europe Fenix 5X - Insufficient Space Error when updating to TopoActive 2021.10 EU map update

Due to the size of the TopoActive 2021.10 EU map released in early May, there is not enough space for both the Cycle Map and the TopoActive 2021.10 EU map on a 16GB Fenix 5X or Descent MK1 watch. Our engineers are working on a solution.

Thanks for the information.

What's the difference between TopoActive and CycleMap? Here, where I live, I opened both maps in BaseCamp and everything looks the same. I don't see any difference between these maps, even their size is almost identical. Maybe they have some extra layers that are not displayed?

Hello,
Is that by deleting the Topoactive and Cyclemap maps on the GPS, 
hence now old versions, 
then relaunching the update so with more free space, that can work.
it would be nice if we had a back-up solution.

It depends on what maps you have on your Fenix 5X. There are Fenix 5X watches that have a Topo map that is not TopoActive. In those instances, the Cycle Map is needed.

I have these maps:

What's the difference between these maps? From what I can see in my area they are the same. Any of them have some special use? I don't see any additional bike paths on CycleMap or anything like that.

Second question, if we delete any of the maps by deleting its img file, can it be re-downloaded by Garmin Express later?

Fenix 5x firmware version 22.20

Garmin Express v 7.5.0.0

Installed Maps (from BaseCamp):

Now (23/05/20201) the error message from Garmin Express has gone (thus maps-wise nothing has been updated).

New maps (2021.10) are no more advertised, but the installed MAPs are still the old ones (2020.20)

Same issue here. I don't receive error message but old maps are installed, no update for us?

By the way, can anybody explain to me why these maps are needed at the same time?: TopoActive and Cycle Map, becaus it's supposed that TopoActive maps are including the routable features for cycling, aren't they?
