Fully Charged Fenix5 Drained to Zero in 4 hours without Activity Use

Have been noticing the battery life on my Fenix 5 draining faster than usual. Then yesterday, it dropped from ~55% to 5% in half the day. Recharged it last night, put it on this morning fully charged, and I got a 3% battery life left warning within 4 hours.

Looked around here on the forums and can't find any ACTUAL solutions other than resetting the watch.

Suggestions?

  • Please review this support article, How to Improve the Garmin fenix 5 and fenix 5s Battery Life and remove all Connect IQ APPS off your watch and test again. Resetting your watch you have referenced will only work if the issue is software related specific to your watch not working correctly, and can still be resolved.

    If you have done both the soft reset and master reset and the fast battery continues despite removing Connect IQ items installed, then the issue is the battery itself and your watch will need to be replaced.

  • The other day I had a faster than normal discharge out of the blue - power cycled the watch, recharged, and I'm back to ~10-15% points per day by itself without activity but BT connected to phone. Another thing to check is go through your CIQ apps and watchfaces to see if there are any pending updates and then apply those updates.
