Fenix 3 GPS data no longer working

On my last hike and run there was no GPS data present. This was not a problem with my previous activity, on march 10th, 2021. The watch software version is 9.60 and other functions seems to work fine, as far as I can tell.

Any idea why the GPS would stop working like that? Should I take the lack of a fēnix 3 series category as a sign that this wearable is not expected to last this long and is no longer supported?

I am sorry your GPS has stopped functioning properly. Even though we discontinued building the Fenix 3 series awhile back since we are 3 generations past the series, there are many still in use worldwide…

I updated to the latest Garmin Express on my Mac and updated my Fenix 3 to the latest software. That did not fix my issue. Then I tried the master reset, and that seems to…

I am sorry your GPS has stopped functioning properly. Even though we discontinued building the Fenix 3 series awhile back since we are 3 generations past the series, there are many still in use worldwide that work great. When your GPS stops working, regardless of what Fenix series, you can try to update your GPS software using Garmin Express on your computer. If still no GPS acquisition, try a master reset.

I updated to the latest Garmin Express on my Mac and updated my Fenix 3 to the latest software. That did not fix my issue. Then I tried the master reset, and that seems to work. I'll do some more testing in the morning, and report back if GPS fails again. Fingers crossed
