Fenix 5X not detected on MacBook Air (M1)

I recently migrated to a MacBook Air (M1) with BigSur 11.2 and Garmin Express will not detect the watch. The watch is in Mass storage mode, when plugged in, it charges nromally.

Garmin Express does not detect the watch nor Finder.

I was having same problem with Fenix 5 Plus. Charged normally, but Garmin Express 7.5 did not find device.

After poking around on this Forum, I power cycled it and--at the moment at least--GE is seeing the device. That's a very very temperamental relationship between device and computer.

By power cycle do you mean turning the watch off and on? Tried with no luck. Using the MacBook Pro
