Fenix 5s Plus Bluetooth range

HI all

I used to have a Garmin X40 and i could walk around my house without my phone and it would stay connected.

With my Fenix 5S plus if a move more that 4 metres away in the same room with no obstructions it looses bluetooth connection with my phone.

Is this normal, could it be a phone problem (Iphone 8)

I really like the Fenix 5s plus but am really disappointed in the bluetooth range, i have my phone on vibrate only all the time, i relay on the watch buzzing, so have missed quite a few calls due to this.

  • It is abnormal to have such a short Bluetooth range if you in the same room or vicinity. If you have the Settings > Phone > Alerts option set to On and you see a consistency of poor Bluetooth connectivity, especially when your iPhone is near your watch, then please reach out to Outdoor Product Support. We will be happy to assist you further.

  • Thanks for the reply

I have smart notifications on but alerts off as it would be constantly buzzing if I move away from my phone

I have tested it a few time using the landline, I call my phone and if it buzzes on my watch I walk back a bit and ring again etc until it doesn’t buzz. I get till roughly 4 metres in the same room with no obstacles till it doesn’t connect.

    I will try product support.

    thanks
