Fenix 5 will not connect to computer and wifi

I have had a fenix 5 for a while but only use it for long distance running which i do not do very often. However, since i purchased it i have had issues with connecting the fenix 5 to computer. I have tried with different cables and i have tried connecting through Bluetooth and wifi but nothing. I have keep getting transfer fail when using wifi originally it was stating no network.

I have also tried several different cables and different computers but still will not connect to anything

  • You could try to install the USB drivers from the Garmin page. If this is not solving your problem than it's just Garmin ruining a watch. Have those issues as well and way more.

  • Given that you receive a transfer fail trying to use Wi-Fi, I hope you are still able to transfer your activities through the Garmin Connect Mobile APP on your smartphone using Bluetooth.

When your watch is not seen by your computer, it is not properly going into a mass storage mode to be read by your computer. You mentioned having your watch for awhile but I am hoping you may still be able to resolve the connecting to computer issue and possibly the Wi-Fi issue too.

Please work through this Support Center article. There are two sections that will be helpful and will apply to trying to resolve your issues. Please work through the "frozen" section and the "factory reset" section. The soft reset, master reset, and deleting possible corrupt files are all capable of resolving your issues.
