Time and date off

I went for a run earlier and recorded the activity as normal on my Fenix 5X. I saved the activity (again as normal) but it recorded the run as having taken place several days and hours earlier than reality (both on the watch’s history and Garmin Connect). Instead of the run starting at 16:13 on the 25th of January, it shows it as taking place at 07:50 on the 21st. It did however record the run at the correct time and date as a Move IQ Event.

The watch is displaying the correct time and date. I recorded a dummy activity afterwards which showed up with the correct time and date as well so I’m a bit stumped as to what’s going on.

anyone encountered this or can shine some light on what the issue might be?

  • I have no idea how that could happen, so not much help.

BUT - in case you want to fix/adjust/change the time or date to make it correct you can do that at the following site.

    Fit File Tools

  • Thanks that looks like a useful tool. I think parts of the file must be reading true and others not - so the activity uploaded to strava with the wrong date/time on it but sits in my feed/timeline at the correct date (so says 21st Jan but sits with activities recorded on the 25th). It also uploaded to Training Peaks and gave me a training stress score of nearly 14000 for a 45 min activity (normal would be c.100 or less). A bit bizarre - hopefully a one off and not a sign that that watch is failing.
