What will happen if we lose the Fenix 5 charge pin 2 due to corrosion.

HI All,

I have been studying most of the thread about the Fenix 5 charge pin 2 corrosion. I'm just curious what will happen if we let them rust and broken. Some thread informed that the charge is done via pin 1 and 4. So what is the function of pin 2 and 3? If it is for data transfer only, we have the bluetooth and wifi connection.

Note : I'm a fenix5sapphire user. Just about to make a claim for this corrosion issues because after a super carefull maintenance for 1.5 year it keeps coming.

Regards

Got a Whatsapp message that my fenix is done. I managed to visit the authorized service centre and got informed that I got no replacement. They said that they cleaned the charging contact and upgrade the software. ????? I always cleaning and update the software regularly when the device is connected to garmin express.

The authorized service centre seems very reluctant to replace the corroded fenix without the device totally broken / dead. Not really happy with the outcome but I do really hope the remaining warranty covers the consumer risk properly.
