20.00 - Battery Drain - How long does it take for an update?

I bought the "fenix 5" watch for its 15-day battery life.
Since the last update 20.00, the autonomy has decreased to 2 days maximum.
I don't understand why we don't have a patch update yet.
Dear Garmin team, thank you for doing the necessary reactively to correct update issues.
We do not buy a product so that it does not correspond to the promised characteristics !!
If you do not know how to correct with a higher version, reinstall the previous version !! and test your updates please !!!!

Have you made sure that the watch backlight turns off 100% when it’s in a dark room? If the backlight is always slightly on it will decrease battery light a lot.

Yes, I confirm that the watch backlight is turned off.

"I don't understand why we don't have a patch update yet." - because, if this was a wide spread issue the forum would be full of complaints. perhaps try a soft reset (no data is lost) or, just turn the watch off and on. if some process is stuck this may fix things. Providing more useful information might also help people provide suggestions (any IQ watch faces, what phone connected etc). As much as it might feel good ranting against Garmin, this is a user forum.

My Forerunner 935 (with more or less the same 20.00 firmware version) is over 3 years old and battery life is about half wat it used to be. But that's for quite some time now. I thing at least since 13.xx.

Either Garmin uses lousy batteries (normally after 500 charge cycles there should be 80% batterylife left)

Or there is some bug in Garmins software and I suppect the GPS software since especially during GPS activities battery life is lousy (10% per hour). It doesn't matter if I use GPS, GPS/Glonass or GPS/Gallileo.

I do which Garmin could bring GPS acitivty back to 5% usage what it should be. But any spectaculair new battery drains with version 20.00? No, I don't see them.

This restarting also helps, but there was some issue with display version (should be 3.40 and was 3.30, or so?)

I reset the watch this afternoon. The problem seems to be resolved.
I can be sure tomorrow night.

Up-Menu button long press, choose Settings => About => then it is like 5th screen down and there are versions: GPS 2.70, Display 3.30 etc. Please write yours.

BLE/ANT/SNS 6.90

WHR 20.03.31

ok this will not help. Do you have installed Garmin Express on PC or Mac? Would be good to have and synchronize your watch with Express.

Do you have some apps installed? Custom watch faces?
