Fenix 5X internal temperature sensor stuck on 585F

Hi All,

I have recently noticed that the internal temperature sensor of the Fenix 5X is not recording well.

Initially during an activity I noticed that the recorded temperature was between -195F to 259F in 27 minutes whereas the outside temperature was 81F.

For about a week the internal temperature is now stuck to 585F and not moving from there.

Does anybody know what to do to correct this?

I also have the elevation that is not working and constant during the activities.

Try the standard methods

1) Power off-on

if this doesn't help

2) factory reset (with the watch on, hold down the power button until it shuts down)

But be sure that you sync your activity data before to GC.

If this also doesn't help, contact the Garmin Support.

It also happens to me

On Fenix5 with 20.0 software version barometer and temperature sensors are stuck. I tried to power off-on, hard reset, factory reset, and both sensors are now without data.

Does anybody know what happen?

If the standard resets (as suggested) don’t work you need to contact support (this is a user forum). The main role of the temperature sensor is for use in barometric and elevation calculations so if it is broken you will have messed up elevation data. There is a way to get into diagnostic mode (search the forum - I don’t remember) but don’t think this will solve anything. Do the resets as support will have you do them anyway.

Thanks for your message razmichael. I found the diagnostic mode and when i get to BARO TEST this is what appears:

Thanks for the answer.
I try to calibrate but it gets an error when confirm the altitude.

Try to clean the port, but, same result.

Not that it matters but I suspect the temp sensor is not functioning - this is why the baro is invalid. I had this years ago with a F3 and it needed to be replaced - it was intermittent at first when I reported it but died completely after warranty ended. Because I had reported it early it was replaced. Good luck.
