  • What device did you use to record the activity?

That's not surprising at all, since at MTB it is not supposed to happen. According to the documentation:

"Cycling VO2 Max can only be estimated when using the Bike profile. The Mountain Biking activity profile will not generate a VO2 Max."

And since the Training Load is based on the VO₂Max, it cannot be added when there is not VO₂Max value.

    • I have used my fenix 5 for mtb activities for 2 years and they have always uploaded to the 7 day training load. I understand that it will not effect the vo2 as I'm not using a power meter. This problem has happened twice recently.
  • Maybe you did not use the MTB Activity profile previously, did you? Or perhaps it was modified recently in the software to behave in the way described in the doumentation. Next time use the standard Cycling activity type, and change it only once already uploaded in Garmin Connect (if really needed). However, stadarnd road cycling is used for a reason, so using it on MTB may lead to wrong values.
