Floors climbed and cycling

Does anyone know whether cycle rude elevation is used for floors climbed figures.

my watch seems reasonably accurate for running and walking outdoors but seems to ignore cycling, even on hills that I know count for running:walking.

I wondered whether only step based activity is included or perhaps the static hands ie not swinging is the issue.

im doing a virtual Everest climb during lockdown and those extra meters would sure help but I don’t want to double count and cheat

  • Stairclimbing doesn’t work at all on my watch (forerunner 935).

It’s easy to count the number of stairs I climbed during a day and it’s never the number my watch reports (in real live I climb more)

However, on my bike it counts stairs like crazy. I live in the Netherlands and it’s really flat here, but I can easily “climb” 35 stairs or more on a flat ride.
As a computer programmer it seems so easy to me: when activity is cycling then don’t count stairs.

As a garmin user I learned to ignore most fancy garmin features. They don’t work!
