Fenix 3 hr not showing speed/distance while cycling

Good morning all,

I'm baffled by this issue and hoping somebody can help.

My Fenix 3hr has stopped showing speed/distance while cycling. It used to work perfectly while cycling, and still works fine while running. I checked, and the GPS is still turned on, but for some reason it is no longer showing speed/distance, only time, while cycling.

Same problem. The biking app does not show distance+speed. Hiking works fine.

I have the same problen on bike profile. It work on walking/running/swimming profile

And how does the recorded activity look once you save it? Does it include the map, and the speed and distance info, or is it missing there too?

It is missing all of that too. Just shows time, haha

In that case it looks like the ephemeris GPS data file might be expired. Connect the watch with USB cable to the computer, and check for updates with Garmin Express. You need doing it regularly - GPS cannot work reliably and quickly without fresh ephemeris data. Read more about it here:

Unfortunately, it is now completely updated, and still does not appear to be tracking or showing distance or time :(

You mean the old activities, or a new one you just did after the update?

I started it and rode around the block, but I'll do a full ride on it tomorrow and see if it gets any better haha. Thanks for the help!

What does the GPS status tell on the watch's screen?

Appears to not be loading all the way, stays red. Which is weird because it works fine while running.

Check out the cycling activty settings, whether you did not turn the GPS off. Also try different parameters for the cycling activity - i.e. GPS+Glonas, to see whether it makes any difference. And have a look into the global system settings, search the "About" screen, and scroll down until the page speaking about EPO status, and let us know what it tells.
