Average Run power not accurate?

Hello.

I have an observation and i would like to know your opinion about this. I performed an rFTP (run FTP) test as follows: Warm up, 1200m all out, 30 min Z1/Z2, 2400m all out, cool down. Lets not focus on the test please :) ....

My problems:

  1. Warm up and 1200m all out interval have approximatelly same average Running power. Warm up -353 W / 1200m all out 348W. How is it possible? According to this i put more power in warm up than in all out 1200m interval.
    1. Warm up average power 353W, average pace 06:24s, total time 12:01, distance 1,88km, best tempo 05:29
    2. 1200m average power 348W, average pace 04:01s, total time 4:49, distance 1,2km, best tempo 03:36
  2. Similar problem is with second 2400m interval after 30 min recovery run (Z1,Z2). The 30 min run had average 501W and 2400 all out 437W.
    1. I am sure that i put more power in 2400m interval with 04:24 average pace than in recovery with 07:32 where i even walked for a while.

There seems to be a problem when the workout is long and it adds to the average power. In my opinion this should not happen, or should it? E.q. when i put 200W on bike for 1 hour and 200W for 2 hours i will have still the same average power outputs, only the total power will change be different, right?

Here is a .fit file if you need that.7345.zip

And here is a link to garmin website:

Please tell me if i am missing something. Thanks!

    Hello.

The table after expanding all parts of workout looks like this (i connected the firts rows with last ones in mspaint so we dont see the useless middle...). Well at least for me. Sorry it is not in english :)

There seems to be difference for how the data is displayed to you and to me. I guess you highlighted the interval parts of a workout and the data looks good.

    What can be the problem?

So i managed to figure this out. When i am logged in i see it as i posted in the picture below. The power data is assigned to bad segments and some of it is not even displayed. When i am logged out and i look at workout as another person (like mehmetozturk) the data is correct.

There is difference of how power is assigned to particular segments whether i am logged in or not. Maybe some1 from Garmin can comment on this?

    Thank you :)

    Hi

I have similar observations for average running power comming from the IQ app. The power graph seem OK, but I get very strange average values per interval/segment. I also don't understand why we can't get a value per detailed interval. It makes no sense to give an average value for a sum of intervals with pauses in between.

I hope someone from Garmin can explain or correct this?

    Best regards

    Lars
