Fenix 5 causing skin irritations after prolonged use

have been owner of a Fenix 5 for 19 months. Have worn the watch 24/7 ever since, only undoing it for showering, charging and occasional "no-wearable-time". I am always cleaning my Fenix with water after every sport activity. Since a month or so I have skin rash/irritation building up. It started under the heart rate sensor, but it slowly spread out. I am now without the watch for nearly a week and it slowly disappears again.

I sold the watch the day before yesterday, as I bought a Fenix 6x. Will it give me the same issue as well?

I also own a fenix 3 that I still wear, never had the issue in the past when I wore that watch day in day out. But it has no hr wrist sensor...

I have the same skin issue with my Garmin run hr strap on my chest. On the right side where the protective label is sitting to avoid contact with the hook. I have the impression it Starts after 18 months or so of usage. When I buy a new strap and i let the irritation heal, it stays away.
