Fenix 5x stopped charging. I've tried cleaning contacts. Swapping leads and power sources. Has anyone any ideas for fix. The battery was at 0% so the device won't even turn on.

Happen to my Fenix 5s less than 6 months old which I got in Dec 2019. I tried all the suggestions such as cleaning the contacts, swapping cables etc etc. I have to hold the connectors in the right spot so it can start charging. Appears one of the connector pin on the Fenix may have some sort of corrosion. It doesn't look the same as the other 3 pins. I contacted Garmin (Aust) and they said I can get a refurbished Fenix which has been 'refurbished to the same standard as a new one". If the refurbished one is so good how come my brand new Fenix is not so good. So disappointed as Garmin is a high end product
Yeah. I struggle with that charging connector too, even though there's no sign of corrosion. Do you have the silver contacts? (I think some are made with gold-colored contacts and maybe they are better...) https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-5-series/140807/golden-contacts-in-plug but this thread comments on the same sor tof issues with the gold contacts too and offers advice about cleaning that worked for them. https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-5-series/147744/connection-charging-problem
Garmin ended up contacting me after I told them I will be posting the issue on this forum and the Aust product review forum. My issue was then escalated up the Garmin food chain and they will now replace my Fenix with a new one so hopefully it will arrive soon. I did emphasise one of the pins looked corroded and took some enlarged photos to show them it was different to the other 3 pins. They are the gold ones. May I suggest you show them my issue and see how you go
Take a look at this post for a possible solution: forums.garmin.com/.../charging-contacts-damaged-pitted-easy-fix
