Fenix 5+ has massive battery problems

Its my 2nd replacement watch from UK.

Post updating to version 10.10 the battery life is no more than 36 hours.

Its really sad that i didnt use this watch for 9 months..

I have tried all settings to save battery now the only option is to keep it switched off post activities.. which doesn't make sense to have such a expensive piece of electronic and it doesn't work.

Even while on regular normal gps for 1 hour run, battery drain is 20%

The hardware is amazing.. the software.. something is wrong in the software..

Product.Support is helpful.. however the product needs to be good as well

Hello, sad to hear such problems.

I have had the same issues (but with a fenix 5), and I must say that the replacement is for now impressive: less than 0.3%/h in normal use, and up to 6%/h when running (since 21/02/20, only 34,2% lost including a 2hrs run)

What surprised me when receiving the watch was the software installed:

SW 14.20 (ok, more or less one of the latest software)
GPS 2.50
CIQ 3.0.1
Sensor_Hub : 5.30

With the previous watch which suddenly drained the battery, the sensor_hub was 6.90 and the CIQ was higher too, and this for the same 14.20 SW.

So, if your hypothesis is right, one should avoid update the watch to avoid getting new sensor_hub or CIQ.

I had disabled SW update to test the watch as it is when "out of the box", but I guess I'll stick with this configuration for as long as it's possible.
