Intensity Minutes Still not making sense

Monday 26 IM 

Tuesday 12 IM

Wednesday 30 IM

Thursday 50+ IM

I worked out hard on Mon and Tues with over 20 min of time in HR zone 4 on Tuesday.

Wednesday I mostly sat around.

Thursday I have been on my feet all day but not walking fast and my max heart rate is only 115.

I get that IM is calculated by walking fast OR by HR - but when I am working out the hardest of the week and getting the lowest IM numbers.... something is wrong. 

IM never makes sense on my watch. last week I decided to reset my watch in a hope to fix this but .... didnt work.

anyone have any suggestions?

  • More to Add --- it looks like it doesnt count ANY vigorous activity but ONLY Moderate. today I made a careful plan to do 10 min moderate then 20 min vigorous. making sure I was solidly in those zones the full time. ONLY the moderate counted. 

  • Yes sometimes I find it works well...  and sometimes it is completely useless. .. On my 5x and 5x plus ... Sometimes I get vigorous intensity minitues for walking around the kitchen .....sometimes I don't get them for vigorous excersise....Sometimes I do.......At the moment its behaving quite well.

    Its a bit hit and for me.....sometimes with a new watch you have to wait a week for it to settle in.... or if its not working .. try changing your fitness class in connect... then wait a few days and see if that helps.

    In conclusion.... Its useful when it's working lol. .. 

  • I read this and wasn't having any trouble at the time, but then the weekend happened. Went on a 30 minute run on Saturday where I was trying to stay in zone 2, but not always, and received 31 IMs. On Sunday I didn't record a single activity, but recorded 133 while at work. According to my HR data, I momentarily reached 140 (probably an error too as it was right after putting my watch back on after the shower), but that was it. Recorded 58 yesterday with no activities and at 62 today with 30 minutes of zone 2 running. Very odd.
