Fenix 5x GPS accuracy disappointed me.
Please convince me to buy a Garmin (Fenix 6x) again.
Otherwise, I'll leave all my account, my workouts, and look for other things.

Had hardware issues with my Garmin 5X still under warranty resulting in a refurbished replacement. Updated the replacement with all the latest updates and went on a 10 mile hike with my wife who was wearing her Forerunner 945. In addition to wearing my 5X, I worn my Suunto Ambit Peak on my opposite arm. At mile 5, my 5X GPS (GPS only setting) was indicating almost 7 miles, Suunto 5.0, Forerunner 5.01. The 5X distance got radically worst until I turn off the hike. Going to reset the 5X and sync with Garmin Express and check it out on my next hike. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
No one is going to convince you to do anything, it is your choice. Like it or leave it.
My experience is that I'm with Fenix 5 and the GPS accuracy is meh. (much worse than my previous Forerunner 735xt) So I'm not touching Fenix line up again since there are reports that Fenix 6 is equally bad.
P.S. Please don't create another thread on the same topic it's just complicates things.
Cheers
Have similar experience on hikes, the track it records is zigzaggy and unreliable. Faster sports like running/cycling do better.
Leave for what?
Depends on your budget, but the competition will be - within Garmin - 935/945, Suunto 9, Polar Vantage V/M, Coros Apex (Pro)/Vertix
If you need only hiking, even Forerunner 235/245 will do the job great with GPS accuracy.
Thanks to everyone. I love Garmin, but I don't know what I'm gonna do.
I'm doing a triathlon, so I think I'm going to look for other alternatives.
Forerunner 945 or Suunto 9 Baro?
