Hello all,
I recently bought an instinct after weeks of research. I loved it for comfort and ruggedness and all that. GPS was accurate but what I didn’t love was my altimeter/barometer readings after 5 miles into my 6 mile run. It will give me erroneous readings of 1000+ feet of gain when I’m running in a relatively flat city. It will also gives me storm alerts around that time. My suspicion is sweat in the port.
There’s a local guy that’s selling a fenix 5 for $200 and I was excited until I read about gps accuracy being way off as well as altimeter and barometer readings. It’s the OG f5 from July 2018 as far as I know. Have any of these problems been corrected with new firmware? If I’m running a marathon and my gps is a little off that’s fine but if I’m running a 5k and it tells me I only ran 2.5 miles then that’s a no go.
