Foretex 601 GPS problem

Hello.

I recently bought a Garmin Foretrex 601, but it even after I upgraded the firmware, it looped on acquiring navigation, only to lose it after a few seconds (typically 5-10 seconds), giving me the message "satellite connection lost". This happened even in clear sky.

Since it run on new batteries and the firmware was the latest one, at first I thought it was an hardware problem and so, I went to the store where I bought it from, asking for help and they replaced it for a new one... but it consistently gives me the same problem...!

I'm desperate, because if there is something a wrist GPS should have working very well is... the GPS!

And with this one, I'm completely unable to trace any route, because it keeps losing the GPS signal!

Can somebody help me?

    Hi!

    I managed to find a workaround, but I don't know if this is a real solution. Anyway, you can try and I'd appreciate if you replied me back with the results.

    I work in the field of GPS trackers and so, I'm not new to this subject. So, I tried everything I know (from the configurations possibilities the device has) and the only one that stabilized the device was to switch the GNSS solution from GPS+GLONASS to GPS only.

    It doesn't make sense (as the device should gain from using both constellations for the position solution), but it is a fact that since I did it, the device never again entered the loop I described.

    I bought one and it doesn't acquire satellites anywhere. I actually regret this purchase.

    Hi, I had the same Problem and switched To only GPS and it really worked instantly!
